Welcome to Friends of Colonel Young Park

Friends of Colonel Young Park (FoCYP), a non-profit organization with 501(3) status, works with public sector, non-profit sector, and private sector leaders to build resources for the creation of a first class baseball and softball facility at Colonel Young Park and raises funds for the maintenance of Colonel Young Park after its upgrade. Thus far, FoCYP has obtained approximately $2M in capital funding commitments from City Council Member Inez Dickens and Manhattan Borough President Scott Stringer and has worked with Community Board 10 and with the New York City Department of Parks to ensure that the creation of a superb baseball and softball facility at Colonel Young Park remains a top Central Harlem capital project priority.

Friends of Colonel Young Park has undertaken a 10-year project to raise a $1 million endowment for the permanent maintenance of Colonel Young Park after it is upgraded to set a new standard of quality for community sports facilities.

Thank you for visiting the Friends of Colonel Young website, designed to keep you informed of our progress and inspire your interest and participation. We are grateful for your support and eager to benefit from your time, talent and treasure in the days ahead as we collaborate to make Colonel Young Park a shining example of a first-class youth baseball/softball facility. Please join our fight for Harlem’s youth!
